Just a quick note for the one person besides myself who is actually reading this:
Ma, when we used to joke about how the FBI should hire you, we weren't kidding.

And it has begun.....
I'm not really sure how this happened. It seems that I am heading to graduate school in London in a little over a month.
Everything was going along just fine. I was living the romantic and exciting life of a struggling actress in New York City, something that I dreamed of since I was a little girl.
Oh, yeah. That's where it started. I remember now.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself to explain where we're going here. I grew up in a little hamlet of a place called Hamilton, right outside of Trenton, NJ. My mother used to always tell me to "say I was from Princeton", because it sounded better. Not that I ever cared about things like that, I just knew that I wasn't going to be living there forever. I was destined for the screen. I spent most of my free time filming scenes from Sophie's Choice or the end of West Side Story in my room, two roles that I will never play. I didn't quite understand that having red hair and freckles meant I would never be cast as a Holocaust victim or a Puerto Rican. I still think that with enough makeup I might be able to pull it off. Hell, Natalie Wood did. Never mind the fact that I can't sing.
Fast forward 15 years to me living in a 5th story walk-up on the Upper East Side of New York, working as a waitress, babysitter, retail saleswoman, and barista. What a life. Doing a few shows in what technically can be called theaters. There were seats and a stage area.....plus a couple of lights. God Bless my parents for coming to all of that crap.
So, I decided to chuck it all and head south to Washington,DC. I thought that I could make a name for myself in a smaller place. You know, be the big fish in the pond. After about a year and a half I was working for an association and enjoying the sweet life. Health insurance and a 401(k) plan. Life doesn't get any better than that.
But, I started getting the itch that something was wrong. I had never given up on my dream of being on Oprah with Meryl Streep or Al Pacino (clearly they would be my friends once I hit the big time) and I was about to turn 28. I was panicing. There were rumors floating all over the place that Oprah was going to stop doing the show soon! What! There's only a small window of opportunity left for me to make it now.
What's the fastest way of becoming a famous Hollywood actress? Going to graduate acting school in London! After all, the only way to get cast in an Oscar winning movie is to be British.
I coming in through the backdoor, Hollywood.......Hold on Oprah, just two more years and I'll be there.
